I am a man in the street
Without a car or a flat
Living in a rented house
Travelling by tram or bus

I am a man in the street
Without a government job
Neither a corporate job in sight
Driving an Ola or Uber cab

I am a man in the street
With no connection to boast
With no relation to greet
Struggling to stand on my feet

I am a man in the street
Standing in a queue to vote
To decide the fate of the nation
To send a celebrity or two to oblivion.
