Corona is Nature’s response to Man’s negligence in handling the common cold
How COVID-19 would change our lives across the world
I won’t give an introduction about COVID because everyone is already bored and overwhelmed by it. I will directly dive into one specific aspect of how it’s going to impact the lives of people in India.
1. Socialization turns from an Oxygen to luxury or emergency
India is a country where day to day interactions happen between people on a rapid basis, and a crowd is almost unavoidable be in the workplace and for 90% of people, at home too. In such an environment where privacy is eluded and aloneness is only in either bathrooms or dreams, now unnecessary gatherings come down significantly. We may see people roaming on roads, traffic getting jammed after COVID settles, but the majority of educated people and recently realized youth and adults avoid unnecessary socializing.
We may also develop the culture of ‘Call before you come’, a German code, where people make appointments in personal life and block calendars. Otherwise, if a person or family suddenly arrives at the doorstep to surprise their friends, they might get surprised in reverse by finding an unanswered bell ring.
2. Lavish and crowded marriages are outdated and people may burst out in laughter even if shown in movies
Big fat weddings are lifetime goals of many teenagers as well as adults and make a significant contribution to our economy (because it’s the only place where families spend lavishly). Now there’s going to be a steep downward curve for that trend and low-profile and register marriages will take on that place. I can imagine the faces of brides crying after putting the wedding garland over the groom not because of the regular reason of having to go away from parents but because of the wedding where there was not even a bridal shower.
The groom will plan to have the wedding and reception done on a weekend with super minimum budget, for the miser types, this is the jackpot given by the invisible God of 21st century (a.k.a Novel Corona Virus).
3. Work from home might create mini-offices for employees amidst Natural calamities of Mother’s serials and Children’s crying
Employees longing for ‘Back to home’ moments are now craving for ‘Back to office moments’. What a contrast! And it’s quite understandable. Everyone is on the edge to break out from homes and be seated in their favourite office cubicle and gently switch on their work station. As soon as it switches on, it might immediately prompt for a Windows update and the emotional moment might pass by that.
But on a serious note, employees have noticed that their work can be finished from any place any time and this freedom if used effectively, they can do wonders on professional as well as personal lives. Work-life balance becomes work-life separation in the new normal.
4. The Nation and its people will understand the importance of the economy more than religion
I’m talking about all religions, not one. It’s been said in all holy books that man’s life revolves in circles and it might apply to his evolution too. And countries too might behave like individual average humans, history, as well as contemporary politics, are proving it.
When race matters more in the most affluent country and when religion is the first priority in a developing country, it’s no surprise Corona affected the world and the developing country is least prepared or interested to address the issues of building its wealth, consuming power of public, and stable employment.
Conclusion
On overall, Corona becomes a super hit cinema in the long run and once the vaccine reaches all population, this fear and trauma might be forgotten in a couple of years.
Of course, if human civilization remembered the Influenza that caused tremors 100 years back, wouldn’t they have retained the habit of wearing masks and maintaining social masks and proper sanitization?
Corona is Nature’s response to Man’s negligence in handling the common cold. Because humans neglected Cold, the reaction of Nature is very cold-blooded.
