Indian Students and their lack of freedom
Indian Students and their lack of freedom
I think the two main things that stop the students in India to explore novelty and creativity are
1. Lack of Financial Independence
In Western countries, as I have directly seen, people start earning themselves from the age of 14. That means they are self-reliable from the start of their teenage giving them great freedom to explore opportunities and new ideas.
In India, you have to finish your graduation, get a job and that would take 22 or 23 years minimum. With 10 years of gap in financial independence, our youngsters lose a lot in the journey and become anxious for money. Fear creeps all over the body if they want to try something new, quit the job, take a break, or at least invest in other’s idea.
2. Lack of Marital Independence
By the time one hits 25, more than the biological clock, the parental and societal clocks tick at once urging you to marry. If you ignore their warning, you are left behind in the race. It’s not that easy to find your spouse yourself because it drains a lot of your energy and in the end, you may feel lost and forever single.
With such factors taking the front seat, how can an Amazon or Google be born in India? Our country’s brainchild is Infosys and it can never bring anything innovative. It’s just there to provide services to these companies.
I think Indian students need to revamp their ideas, lifestyle, and philosophy to become leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Because as I always say, Poverty of philosophy is more dangerous than the poverty of Economy
