My lover’s wedding card by R.Krishnamurthy
How you liked me I don’t know
Being poor, there was nothing to show
I didn’t try to steal your heart
It’s beyond me to play a trick of that sort
Though we were classmates I never
Thought I could be your lover
But in the deep recess of my heart
You built for yourself a niche of sort
Just a look at your face was enough
You would smile at me in a gesture
I would concentrate on the lecture
I would stay around till you were off
One day you gave me your wedding card
I wished you all the best like a friend
After marriage you went to the states
A wide gulf separated two hearts.
