The price of Celebrity Status
Many people dream for Celebrity Status but there’s another side to it
The Hyderabad’s pub raid caught everyone’s attention recently. Natuarally when known celebrities are involved the media’s coverage also becomes aggressive. But the curious point that caught my attention is this one. Close to 144 people are caught and taken into custody by Banjara Hills police. Other things followed like cancleling the pub’s licence for allowing banned drugs and CI of the area suspended.
If not for 2 known names, does the public know any other person out of the reamaining 142? They may be big families of politicians and bureaucrats but they’re not celebrities to hold public attention.
It feels nice to have public attention all the time to an extent but it might backfire in some unexpected times. A married woman being in a pub where drugs are circulated at a time of 3 AM is debatable. The same applies to other singer whose name came up. But undoubtedly the public scrutiy and judgement will be more on them.
A celebrity keeps saying to public ‘We are thankful for the love you’re giving us’. It’s like a double-edged sword. The same love can turn into hatred if luck works in reverse.
This is not to judge anyone or make a statement on how one should live or behave. This is only about saying ‘Celebrity status is not all dreamy and full of roses, it also has its risks and thorns.’
